Research has proven that a healthy dose of vitamin D helps fight common colds and respiratory diseases. While exposure to sunlight is a good source of natural vitamin D, plenty of milk and fish help in accumulation of the important vitamin. Cod liver oils, eggs, cereals, cheese and liver contain a fair amount of vitamin D. And you must ensure that you have adequate amounts of these regularly. 10 to 15 minutes of exposure to sunlight without a sun screen is recommended.
